The most bravura of violin showpieces, Vivaldi’s thrilling set of concertos seizes the imagination with vivid portrayals of dozing goatherds, a storm, a harvest celebration and crisp mid-winter. From pastoral Italy, travel the other side of the world to Buenos Aires, the steamy sub-tropics encapsulated in Piazzolla’s inventive Argentinean rhythms and luscious harmony.
